Whohoo we made it through Week 1 and we were super pumped. I was down 8 pounds and my husband was down 17 pounds and we wanted to see where this next week would take us. This week we focused on the bible verse Daniel 1:12-16, “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days. And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of

the king’s delicacies. Thus the steward took away their portion of delicacies and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.
This bible verse was a good example of how Daniel and his fellow men did not want to eat of the King's table and just wanted to eat vegetables and drink water. At the end of 10 days, they appeared healthier and the steward made their diet the standard for everyone. My husband and I knew we would have to tap into God's strength to make it through another week. We continued to commit to daily prayer and devotional time with God. We also made the daily commitment to cover each other and our children in prayer. Talk about a closer walk with God! We could already feel the mental clarity and spiritual shifting. We felt we were moving into another dimension of clarity and spiritual discernment.
This week I shopped at Sprouts and at Whole Foods. I found that the produce at Sprouts is at a better price point than Whole Foods. They have so many fruits and vegetables sourced from local farms, and most of the time they are on sale. I usually go to Whole Foods to buy the kids snacks, so I pick up whatever produce we need while I am there. Unless there are certain produce items on sale at Whole Foods, Sprouts has great bargains for all of their produce. Now for the other grocery items, I will say Whole Foods wins as you can use your Amazon Prime and save.

This week, I got a huge bag of kale for $4, mangoes, oranges, pears, blood oranges, cocktail grapefruit, apples, kiwi, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, cucumbers, tomatoes, avocados (I still had so many my parents sent to me, but you can never have too much avocado), and my favorite find was golden beets. Did you know there are over 20 different varieties of beets? I didn't know either. This is going to make the journey fun as we get into trying the different varieties of fruits and vegetables.
Our meals this week included:
Mango salad (mango, strawberries, cucumbers)
Citrus salad (oranges, blood oranges, cocktail grapefruit)
Mixed Berry Salad (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
Flat Cucumber Sushi (cucumber, tomato, avocado, orange bell peppers, tomato salsa)

Lettuce Wraps (lettuce with variety of vegetable topped with salsa)
Stuffed Avocado (Avocado stuffed with salsa fresca)
Beet Juice ( beet greens, beets, lemon juice)

Green Juice (kale, broccoli, clover sprouts, apple, golden beets, lemon)
Soursop Tea

Our blood pressure readings were staring to drop even lower and we realized the beet juice we were drinking was causing our blood pressure to drop. I had a blood pressure reading as low as 94/66. Beet juice has a powerful blood pressure lowering effect. Read my previous blog, RAW BEET JUICE: A POWERFUL WAY TO lower Blood Pressure Naturally, for more information.
There were a couple days this week that were hard and I noticed that I always had to be prepared. I made sure to prep our meals so when I got hungry, I could pull out another meal right away. This is so important to get through those moments of hunger and push through. I also found that drinking water and sipping on detox teas throughout the day also eliminated any cravings or hunger as well.

We added in light exercise for a couple days this week. I completed 20 to 30 minutes of light cardiovascular activity and 10 to 15 minutes of strength training. I mixed up the cardio between the rower and the exercise bike. I also added in some jump rope. For strength training, I did some air squats, burpees, pushups, wall sits, barbell reps, kettle bell swings, and abs. I did feel increased energy this week, especially when taking care of the kids. I had the energy for them during the day and enough to get a workout in during their nap.
I ended the week another 5 pounds down for a total of 13 pounds total so far. My husband ended the week another 9 pounds down for a total of 26 pounds total so far. This week, my husband's fasting blood sugar readings were all below 100, he even had a reading at 95. The Healing has already begun and we are blown away at the results. I know his diagnosis will be reversed when this journey is complete. WOW!! JUST WOW!! What an incredible experience of discipline and spiritual alignment. God is truly a part of what we are eating and putting into our bodies. There is a tremendous amount of healing in God's food, not man's food, but God's food. The most amazing thing is that God allows the healing to take place immediately. Once you start the eating this way, the Power of the food is released rapidly and the body gets to work. Your body doesn't have to focus on the heavy digestion and can focus on the healing. We spend years eating poorly and our body takes a tool and we develop chronic health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and the list goes on. And God is so good that these health conditions can be reversed in weeks and months once you start taking in foods with more oxygen, like raw fruits and vegetables. It takes a lot of re-shifting of the mind to eat this way, but with God all things are possible. God is truly working within us and everything that needs to be shed will be shed in this experience. We are looking forward to what the next week will bring. Stay tuned and thank you for following and supporting the journey.
